Potty Training

I can confidently say that we are daytime potty trained, at a couple weeks shy of 18 months. Pat had brought up the topic of EC before the twins were born and I quickly dismissed it, as I assumed (correctly) that we'd be way too busy just keeping up with daily activities. We could have started at 10 months, when we noticed dry post-nap diapers and Tilly would pee automatically when placed on a potty. But it was too difficult and Snappis are a pain to take off and it was cold and parents make lots of excuses for this sort of thing.   In France we had a difficult time finding diapers their size because all French kids are PT'ed before 2.  In many other countries it is abnormal to have a toddler >12m who does not use the potty.  The average age for completing potty training in the US is now over 36 months. Whaaat?!

I always said I wanted to do this around 18m, before it got too cold, and well before they became defiant.  So the day after we returned from Maine it happened. Like this:

Day 1: naked from the waist down all day. Pee and poop and frustration everywhere
Day 2-5: repeat
Day 6-9: getting good at placing the kids on potties mid-stream. My hardwood floors hate me.
Day 10: Elsie walks to the potty by herself and pees. And does it again.
Day 11-15: Elsie has less and less accidents every day. Tilly shows no progress
Day 16: Tilly pees in the potty when asked.
Day 17: she's up to speed with her sister
Day 19: we're in undies
Day 20: we go out in undies for 45m, they stay dry. We nap for 1.5 hours, diapers stay dry. We go out in diapers for almost 2 hours, they stay dry. There's no turning back.
