Five Months

Happy 5 months, babies! We don't get a vet visit again until 6 months, but according to the balance board Elsie is 14.3 and Tilly is 15.1 lbs, so the gap is narrowing! We're pretty good at this routine thing and this is what days look like now:

7am: babies wake up, sing and/or fuss, place them in same crib together so they can entertain themselves, go back to snooze for 15 min or so
7:30-8: 4-5oz bottle
9: mini nap
11: 4-5oz bottle
12-1: 1hr nap, maybe
2: 4-5oz bottle
4: mini nap, maybe
5: 4-6oz bottle
6: bath time while the other is in the exersaucer
6:30: sack the babies, feed them 4-6oz bottle
7: asleep!!!
7-11: make dinner, eat dinner, watch tv (!!), browse internet, finish chores, etc
11: dream feed 3oz apiece

And all the times in between are filled with playing, walks, picnics, lunches, playdates, shopping. The past two nights they have been STTN and the next step is to wean them off the dream feed. The problem is they don't eat a lot in one sitting. Most babies this age can eat 7-8oz at a time, but maybe the girls' stomachs aren't big enough yet?

Tilly is quite proficient at the back-to-belly roll and she does that in her crib a lot, but unfortunately gets stuck and doesn't know how to get back. She found her feet two days ago and now those go in the mouth all the time too. The babies interact with each other a lot now and they pull each other's hair, bite ears, grab onesies, and all that good stuff.

They officially sampled solids yesterday for the first time, some baby guacamole. Both seemed to think the spoon was a pacifier and we had mixed reviews. Elsie didn't mind but Tilly was a bit traumatized!
