We stopped calling her Baby B after being discharged from the hospital. Now she is Little Elsie, My Little Peanut/Monkey. She is our "white baby" and looks more like Pat. She has his weak chin, big eyes, long limbs, and gastrointestinal problems. Pat used to throw up all the time. Maybe it was his mom's cooking or maybe he just got too nervous when he had to talk to a girl.

She is the cutest tiniest thing ever! Her foot and calf fit perfectly in the L formed by my thumb and index finger, and you know what small hands I have. She was our little surprise baby, and didn't even make an appearance until our second ultrasound (8w).

Elsie will not latch. She does try but then gets very frustrated and starts crying. Her mouth is too tiny and her lips are not strong enough. She does make a decent effort every time and I do believe she will get the hang of it when she gets bigger and stronger. Right now we are feeding her Similac NeoSure via bottle, 15cc at a time, every 1.5 hours. It takes her a while to get such a small volume down, and then afterwards she needs to be held upright so she doesn't spit it up. It's a very time consuming job and Pat does most of the work since I'm busy being a dairy cow with Tilly and my Medela Classic. At the pediatrician last Wednesday, she was down 13oz from her birth weight. For our next visit I just hope that she hasn't lost any more weight.
